A Companhia Paulo Ribeiro realiza um Laboratório Coreográfico, a decorrer entre 15 e 19 de Dezembro, com Cristina Planas Leitão.
Cristina Planas Leitão é curadora de artes performativas, dramaturga e coreógrafa. Trabalha como consultora e curadora para fundações, organizações culturais e empresas. A sua prática curatorial integrada centra-se no desenvolvimento de formatos criativos sustentáveis, novas narrativas e relações de cuidado no âmbito das artes performativas, manifestando um interesse crescente em práticas experimentais política e socialmente empenhadas. Está particularmente interessada nas intersecções entre práticas curatoriais, organizacionais, de investigação e educativas. Ao longo dos anos, tem esbatido as fronteiras entre disciplinas, nacionalidades e hierarquias, considerando o papel da curadoria como um ato de facilitação. A partir de abril de 2025, é Diretora Artística da Materiais Diversos. Em 2025, co-fundou a SUPERNOVÆ, juntamente com Natalia Álvarez Simó (ES) — uma plataforma de consultoria e curadoria. Desde 2024, integra o grupo de curadores que contribuem para o novo Something Great Arts Centre (DE), cuja reabertura ao público está prevista entre 2026 e 2030. Leciona internacionalmente e coordena a disciplina de Artistic Research na ArtEZ University of the Arts, em Arnhem (NL). O seu trabalho como curadora e, posteriormente, como Diretora Artística do Teatro Municipal do Porto, do DDD – Festival Dias da Dança e do CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva (2018–2024) deixou um legado transformador, que inclui o lançamento de um centro de residências-chave em 2021, a expansão do alcance internacional da instituição e a promoção de uma colaboração global. A sua influência estende-se para além da curadoria: é apoio dramatúrgico do novo trabalho de Marco da Silva Ferreira, Fcking Future; membro do júri da Plataforma Portuguesa das Artes Performativas (2023 e 2025) e nominator para o Prémio SEDA – Salaviza European Dance Award, pela Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Enquanto coreógrafa, Cristina considera o seu trabalho um ato de resistência e cuidado, aprofundando temas relacionados com movimentos sociais e políticos e a sua interação com o corpo performativo no contexto do teatro.
Laboratório Coreográfico: FLYING LOW + PASSING THROUGH
Incorporo e partilho o conhecimento das técnicas de Flying Low e Passing Through criadas por David Zambrano, adaptadas à minha visão artística, sempre cuidando do grupo temporário que se forma para a prática. Estas técnicas ensinam-me sobre as espirais do meu corpo e sobre a relação com o chão, bem como dinâmicas de grupo – é algo que tenho sempre comigo no bolso e uso quando necessário, tal como outras técnicas. Na 1ª parte da prática, focamo-nos na técnica de Flying Low – as dinâmicas aumentam progressivamente, usando imagens e o toque para explorar e explodir cada exercício curto, através dos quais os participantes são desafiados a encontrar as suas próprias soluções fazendo, descobrindo individualmente quais os percursos que atravessam os corpos, mais que qualquer forma ou fórmula pré-estabelecida. A técnica foca-se na relação com o solo, utilizando sequências de movimentos simples e praticando a velocidade e a liberação de energia por todo o corpo para ativar o centro. Há uma atenção especial às extremidades como extensões do centro e indicadores de direção, propondo consciência e clareza ao movimento. Não há Passing Through sem Flying Low e vice-versa e por isso mesmo, na 2ª parte, abordamos Passing Through – um conjunto de ferramentas organizado em vários capítulos, do mais simples ao mais complexo, do individual ao coletivo, desafiando o espaço que existe dentro nós e ao nosso redor. Nesse processo de constantes composições temporárias, concentramo-nos no desenvolvimento de sistemas como um grupo-rede. Por meio de caminhos em curva e espirais que se expandem para o macro-espaço, proponho a criação de dinâmicas flexíveis e complexas, mantendo a coesão do grupo, mas mantendo-o aberto o suficiente para a imprevisibilidade. Movemo-nos constantemente, transformando o ambiente, jogando juntos, dentro de uma matriz de regras e sub-regras comuns que cada um de nós acrescenta.

Cristina Planas Leitão is a performing arts curator, dramaturg and choreographer. She works as a consultant and curator for foundations, cultural organizations and companies. Her integrated curatorial practice focuses on the development of sustainable creative formats, new narratives, and relations of care within the performing arts, showing a growing interest in experimental practices that are politically and socially engaged. She is particularly interested in the intersections between curatorial, organizational, research, and educational practices. Over the years, she has blurred the boundaries between disciplines, nationalities, and hierarchies, seeing curating as an act of facilitation. Since April 2025, she has been the Artistic Director of Materiais Diversos. In 2025, she co-founded SUPERNOVÆ together with Natalia Álvarez Simó (ES) — a platform for consultancy and curatorial practices. Since 2024, she has been part of the curatorial group contributing to the new Something Great Arts Centre (DE), whose reopening to the public is planned between 2026 and 2030. Choreographic Laboratory: FLYING LOW + PASSING THROUGH
I embody and share the knowledge of David Zambrano’s Flying Low and Passing Through techniques adapted to my own artistic vision and needs, always taking care of the temporary group that is formed for this practice. I see them, as techniques that teach my body spiralling pathways and group dynamics – it’s something I always keep in my pocket and take it out when I need to use it, just like other techniques. In the 1st part of the practice, we focus on the Flying Low technique and the dynamics increase progressively using imagery and touch by exploring and exploding each short exercise, where participants are challenged to find their own solutions through doing, figuring out what are the pathways that cross their bodies, rather than established formulas or shapes. The technique focuses on the relationship with the floor by utilizing simple movement sequences and by practicing speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the centre. There is a special attention given to the extremities as extensions of the centre and indicators of direction, proposing awareness and clarity to the movement. There’s no Passing Through without Flying Low and the other way around, therefore in the 2nd part of the practice we take over Passing Through. It is a set of tools organized in several chapters from the simplest one to the most complex, from the individual to the collective, challenging the space in and around us. In this process of constant temporary compositions, we focus on developing systems as a group-net. Through pathways in curve and spirals that expand to the macro-space, participants are proposed to create flexible but complex dynamics, maintaining the cohesion of the group, yet keeping it open enough for unpredictability. We move constantly, transforming the environment, playing together, within a matrix of common rules and sub-rules each of us adds on.
